Mark Harvey was recently the Head of Profession for Infrastructure and Urban Advisers in the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) (formerly DFID). He left FCDO in June 2024 and is now providing advice to various organisations, including through EAPs technical assistance services.

He has 30 years’ experience with FCDO and its predecessors in several developing and other countries (longer term in India, South Africa, Nepal, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Vietnam and the UAE) and across infrastructure sectors at project, programme and policy levels.  Prior to this he had 10 years professional experience in engineering consultancy. He recently joined the board of trustees for the Commonwealth Association of Architects and volunteers one day per week, lock-keeping on the Leeds-Liverpool canal.
