Engineers Against Poverty (EAP), a not-for-profit dedicated to ending poverty through better infrastructure, appointed Richard Threlfall as Chair of its Board on 12 November 2025.
In addition to Richard, the EAP Board welcomes four new Board members who bring a wealth of experience across public procurement, international development, infrastructure governance, social infrastructure and engineering. The new members are: Sarah Cooper, Vinay Sharma, Catherine Barnett-Jaafar and Tina Gunnarsson.
Richard is a Fellow and former Vice President of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Trustee of Future-Fit Foundation. He is now an independent consultant specialising in infrastructure and sustainability. Prior to this he was Global Head of Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare in KPMG. Richard’s overriding focus is the future of our planet and society, and raising awareness of climate change.
Commenting on his appointment as Chair, Richard said “I am delighted to join EAP as Chair at a time when the efficient development of infrastructure is one of the most critical challenges of our time. EAP plays a vital role in demonstrating how infrastructure can be a powerful driver for eradicating poverty. I am grateful to Paul Jowitt for his leadership as outgoing Chair and look forward to working with a strong Board – both existing and new members – to take EAP from strength to strength.”
